Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Prince County in connection with an early spring storm coming this weekend, but CBC meteorologist Tina Simpkin warns that nowhere on P.E.I. will get off lightly.
“It’s not a great weekend at all to be going anywhere,” Simpkin said Friday morning, the first day of March break for Island schools.
“It’s not going to be pleasant. The wickedest weather will come Saturday night into Sunday morning.”
There will be strong winds, with gusts to 70 km/h, and a lot of precipitation. In anticipation of the wind, the Confederation Bridge website was warning Friday morning that traffic might have to be restricted.
